Who am I? Not you.

It's the start of year 3 now, and I've still not yet gotten used to that idea. AT ALL. I still feel like it's all just a dream and I'll be a free bird soon enough. But eh, life's not that simple. I sure wish it was though... -.-

So I'll start introducing myself now, it's the whole point of creating this blog anyway:

Name: Lee Wei Xin
Class: 211
...
Nothing else to say >.<

I have two brothers, one older one younger. My hobby is dance I guess... I like reading non-fiction books but hate reading textbooks. I am rather expressive -coughtalkativecough- and EXTREEEEEMELY lazy. My laugh sounds weird, or so people tell me. Oh and I hate/detest/can't stand chinese. Really.

The most interesting thing that I did over the holidays was traveling to Europe. I had many 'first's there. First time ever traveling that far away from Singapore, first time seeing snow falling, etc. The snow especially was cool:) I had seen snow before on a mountain in China but I have never seen it in the process of falling. And I made my first ever snow angel :D Got myself all wet though... The Eiffel Tower was AMAZING as well! It sparkled at night on the hour and was extremely grand and beautiful, from far away and up close. I didn't climb it though :(

I think mathematics is fun. But only when we are learning stuff and not just doing exercises over and over and over again. Although I know that certainly helps... but STILL... My strength would be that I grasp concepts easily enough, weakness being I don't practice enough and without practice I just as easily forget all that I've learnt.

I liked the company in last year's math class :D But in a more math-y sense, I enjoyed the fun and challenging questions that are somewhat like trick questions :D Eg. the missing dollar question (which btw, my teacher didn't go through in the end so i never found out the trick...) What I DIDN'T like was the tons of worksheets we got... In the end I got lazy and never did all the questions but only the last question of each category.

The way of learning math thats works best for me is, ironically but not surprisingly, the way of learning that I hate most: Doing questions over and over again. It works! Very well actually, but... yeah you know... I guess videos found on ace learning (was it ace-learning? not sure...) works as well, because I'm a visual learner.

The way of learning that doesn't work for me is the teacher explaining the question over and over again. That really doesn't work because sometimes I don't really get what the teacher is going on about (or the teacher has ALREADY explained it the day before or something) and my over-active brain either urges me to go to sleep (which is pure torture to resist btw) or wanders around the room and tunes out what the teacher is saying. Then when I tune back in, I'm just lost. -.-

So far, when I'm actually forced to practice, I managed to do quite well for my exams but when I don't practice and just go in for the exam just knowing the theories, I do badly.

My personal strengths is that I learn rather fast, and I don't really give up easily. Like when I reach a question that I don't know the answer to and it's an interesting question, then I will spend a long time trying to answer it. Unless I'm in an exam... but then again in exams these questions don't come out anyway...

Areas of improvement, or rather AREA of improvement is most definitely my LAZINESS. That really sums it all up. Other stuff is just a by-product of my laziness: my disorganization, my not-passing-up-homework-on-time, etc.

To me, being successful in my performance in Math this year means getting a 4.0 for math. I know, I, know, "it's not all about grades". Trust me, I know, I'm not the type to care THAT much about my grades. -.- But in this case it would be a very clear indicator of my successfulness in Math as like I've said before, this would mean I actually PRACTICED.

If I have free time, I would spend it by sleeping, reading, playing, going out, etc. Obviously the list goes a loooooooooooong way...
